// FURNITURE MANUFACTURING

Upholstery, dimensions, finishes — every combination configured and costed.

Fabric grades, COM yardage, frame sizes, cushion fills, and finish options — dealers configure exactly what they need. Pricing adjusts by material grade. Production routing generates automatically.

001
001 // THE CHALLENGE

Every piece is made to order. Every order is a pricing puzzle.

Fabric grade pricing

Grade A through Grade F, each at different price points. COM (Customer’s Own Material) requires yardage calculation. Dealers guess wrong constantly.

Frame and size variations

Sofa, loveseat, chair, sectional — each with different base prices, material requirements, and production time. Custom dimensions add another layer.

Finish and detail options

Wood finish, nail head trim, leg style, arm type, cushion fill — each affects price, materials, and manufacturing steps.

Showroom ordering chaos

Dealers fax order forms with handwritten specs. Your team deciphers, re-keys, and calls back with questions. The same order touches five people before it reaches the floor.

002
002 // HOW PAINLESS SOLVES IT

One configurator. Grade-based pricing. Automatic routing.

Your product rules define every valid combination. Dealers select, the system prices, and production gets a spec — not a phone message.

Grade-Based Pricing

Fabric grades map to price tiers automatically. Select the fabric, see the price. Upcharges for premium fills and finishes applied in real time.

COM Handling

When a dealer selects Customer’s Own Material, the system calculates required yardage from the frame size and displays shipping instructions. No back-and-forth.

Multi-Step Configuration

Frame, upholstery, cushion, finish, accessories — each step filters to valid options. Dealers can’t submit an invalid combination.

Material Requirements

Fabric yardage, foam volume, wood components, and hardware — calculated from the configuration with waste factors built in.

Production Routing

Frame assembly, upholstery, finishing, and packing — each generated as a work cell with instructions specific to the configuration.

Dealer Showroom Portal

Your brand, your catalog. Dealers configure from the showroom floor, see live pricing, and submit — no fax machines required.

003
003 // FROM ORDER TO SHOP FLOOR

Dealer selects. System calculates. Shop builds.

01

Dealer Configures

Selects frame, fabric grade (or COM), cushion fill, finish, and accessories. Price updates live. Invalid combinations blocked.

02

Order Submits

Yardage calculated. Dealer discounts applied. Shipping estimated. Confirmation sent. You review and approve.

03

Work Orders Generate

Each piece becomes a work order with frame specs, upholstery instructions, material requirements, and finish details.

04

Shop Floor Builds

Frame shop sees dimensions. Upholstery sees fabric and yardage. Finishing sees schedule. Each station completes in sequence.

004 // SEE THE OPTIMIZER ON YOUR MATERIAL

Hardwood is too expensive to guess with.

At $185 a panel, an inch of bad layout is real money. The optimizer nests table tops, bench seats, and drawer fronts across your panel sizes — grain direction respected — and books every usable offcut back into stock, so the next run of drawer fronts comes out of last week's leftovers.

Try it below with a real furniture part list — the savings number is live.
