// INTERIOR & EXTERIOR SHADING

Roller shades, awnings, retractable screens — configured by dealers, built by you.

Width by drop and width by projection pricing, motor compatibility rules, fabric options, and dealer-specific discounts — all calculated live as your dealers configure. Interior window treatments or exterior enclosures, one system covers the whole line. No phone quotes. No pricing spreadsheets. No order re-keying.

001
001 // THE CHALLENGE

Your products have thousands of valid configurations. Your quoting process has one bottleneck: you.

Shading products are deceptively complex — inside the window or out on the patio. An interior roller shade has width × drop pricing, tube deflection limits, and fascia sizes that constrain fabric rolls. A retractable awning has width × projection grids, motor torque ratings, and frame colors by product line. Same factory, two very different rule books.

Most manufacturers manage this complexity with spreadsheets, phone calls, and institutional knowledge locked in one or two people's heads. When a dealer calls to order a motorized awning at 18 feet wide with a specific fabric, someone has to look up the price, check motor compatibility, apply the dealer's discount, and re-key the whole thing into a production system. Every step is a chance for error.

Dimensional pricing matrices

Width by drop for interior shades, width by projection for awnings and screens — grids with hundreds of cells. One wrong lookup means margin erosion or a lost deal.

Motor and component compatibility

Motor torque ratings change by width. Housing sizes constrain fabric options. Dealers don't know the rules — and shouldn't have to.

Dealer-specific pricing

Dozens of dealers, each with negotiated discounts by product line, dealer group, or volume. Managed in spreadsheets that are always out of date.

Order re-keying to the shop floor

The dealer says "72‑3/8 inches." Someone types it into the production system. Someone else reads it wrong. The unit ships at 72‑3/4.

002
002 // HOW PAINLESS SOLVES IT

One system. Configuration to cut list.

Everything your dealers need to order and everything your shop floor needs to build — driven by a single product definition.

Fractional Dimensions

Dealers enter width and drop — or projection — to the nearest 1/8". The system validates against min/max constraints, checks motor compatibility, and prices instantly.

2D Price Tables

Width by drop or width by projection grids with ceil, floor, round, or exact-match lookups. Change a price once — every dealer sees the update in real time.

Motor & Component Rules

Motor options filter by dimension range. Housing sizes enforce fabric compatibility. Invalid combinations are blocked before the dealer can submit.

Dealer Discounts

Percentage off by dealer, dealer group, product line, or specific component. Priority-based matching. Scheduled promotions with start and end dates.

Work Orders & Cut Lists

When the order hits production, every unit becomes a work order with interpolated instructions: "Cut roller tube to 47‑1/2 inches." No interpretation required.

Branded Dealer Portal

Your logo, your catalog, your pricing rules. Dealers log in, configure, and order — 24/7, without calling your office.

003
003 // FROM ORDER TO SHOP FLOOR

Dealer configures. System prices. Shop floor builds.

The same product definition that powers the dealer's form also generates the manufacturing spec. No handoff. No re-keying. No interpretation.

01

Dealer Configures

Selects product, enters dimensions, chooses fabric, motor, housing, and accessories. Invalid options are hidden or blocked. Price updates with every selection.

02

Order Submits

Shipping calculated automatically. Dealer-specific discounts applied. Confirmation sent instantly. You review and approve from your dashboard.

03

Work Orders Generate

Each configured unit becomes a production work order. BOM frozen. Cut lengths calculated. Assembly instructions interpolated. Priority set by ship date.

Shop Floor Builds

Stations see their queue. Workers clock in, complete operations, consume materials. Finished goods receive to inventory. Invoice generates.

004 // SEE THE OPTIMIZER ON YOUR MATERIAL

Every stick of extrusion, planned before the saw starts.

Roller tubes, side tracks, hem bars, bottom rails — interior shades and exterior screens cut from the same racks, and the optimizer packs every cut across your stick lengths, burns down the drops first, and books usable leftovers back into inventory. What used to be Dave's cut-list math on a whiteboard runs automatically on every work order.

Try it below with a real multi-unit shade and screen order — then change a length and watch the whole plan re-shuffle.
