Change your products yourself. Live when you say so.

Price increases, new options, new rules. Ask Product Studio in plain English and it updates the dealer's order form, price, BOM, and shop routing together, in a draft. Try it as any dealer, then put it live now or on January 1.

We build your first products with you. Your team takes it from there.

001 // EVERY SEASON

The changes you make every year. Made by your own team.

A new price, option, fabric, or rule touches the price book, the order form, the shop's instructions, and every dealer. In Product Studio each one is a single change your team makes, checks, and puts live on its own schedule.

The annual price increase

“Here's our 2027 price sheet.”

TODAY

New price sheets go out by email, the order desk checks quotes by hand, and some orders still come in at last year's prices.

WITH PRODUCT STUDIO

Drop in the sheet. Your products price from the new table in a draft, and you schedule it for January 1. Every dealer switches at once.

A new option

“Add a motorized option for $495.”

TODAY

The order form, the price list, the BOM, and the shop's instructions are updated by different people, and one gets missed.

WITH PRODUCT STUDIO

One request changes all four in one draft, and the assistant tests sample orders before it saves.

A rule the shop keeps asking for

“Widths over 20 ft must be motorized.”

TODAY

Orders that can't be built get caught on the shop floor, or on a call back to the dealer.

WITH PRODUCT STUDIO

The rule lives in the dealer's order form, so an order that breaks it can't be saved.

A new fabric line

In Collections, with offered-from dates

TODAY

Every order form and price list needs the new colors, and discontinued ones linger.

WITH PRODUCT STUDIO

Add the colors to the collection once, with the date they're offered from. Every product that uses it picks them up, and expired colors drop off new quotes.

002 // TEST DRIVE

See exactly what dealers get. Before they get it.

Open any product the way a dealer would. It starts as the dealer Coastal Blinds: switch dealers to see each one's price, and use the Pricing, BOM, and Production tabs to see what each choice does to the price, the materials, and the shop's work. Switch products from the product name. Nothing here creates orders.

003 // SAFE RELEASES

Nothing half-finished reaches your dealers.

Changes to a product's form, rules, price logic, and production are drafts dealers can't see. When one is right, activate it or schedule the go-live, and bring back any earlier version in one click.

  • Drafts dealers can't see

Work on as many drafts as you like. Dealers only ever order from the live version.

  • Every AI change tests itself

Before the assistant saves, it checks that the product still loads, prices, and runs production, and re-runs the sample orders it priced. A broken change isn't saved.

  • Scheduled go-live, re-checked

Pick a date and time. Painless checks the draft again before it goes live and emails your admins either way.

  • Review before release

Ask another admin to review a draft. They see the checks and the changes, and merge it into live when it's ready.

  • One-click rollback

Every version is kept. Bring back an earlier one in a click, and undo any assistant turn without losing work.

  • A history in plain English

Versions carry a plain-English description of what changed, and AI changes keep the request that started them.

004 // BRING YOUR CATALOG

Start from what you already have. Not a blank screen.

Hand Product Studio the price sheets, order forms, and product pages your team already uses. It drafts from them, and you review before anything is saved.

Your price sheets

Excel and CSV are read exactly. PDFs and photos are transcribed, and you check every cell before the price table is saved.

Your order forms

Drop in a photo or PDF of the order form your dealers fill out today. Studio drafts the guided form from it.

Your product pages

Point Studio at a public product page or spec sheet. It researches the product and drafts it, with sources.

Your discount programs

Describe a program in plain English. Studio shows whose prices change, before and after, and you confirm it.
005 // BUILT ONCE, USED EVERYWHERE

One product. Five jobs done.

What you build in Product Studio is the dealer's order form, and it's also the build spec. When a dealer submits, the price, the materials, and the routing already exist. Nobody re-keys it.

  1. 01

    Order form

Steps, fields, and options in the dealer’s words, down to 16ths of an inch. Options that don’t apply switch off.

  2. 02

    Validation

“Height cannot exceed 192 inches” appears at the field, and the unit can't be saved until it's valid.

  3. 03

    Price

Grid lookups, upcharges, and the dealer’s own discount, recalculated on every change.

  4. 04

    Bill of materials

Materials and quantities from the actual size and options, with waste factors where you use them.

  5. 05

    Routing

Stations, times, and step-by-step instructions. Options add or skip steps per unit.

UNDER THE HOOD

Powered by the configuration engine.

Each product is one readable definition. Most changes start as a plain-English request, but nothing is hidden: your admins can read exactly what a rule does, compare versions line by line, or edit the definition directly.

Routing becomes work orders on the Everything plan.

006 // COLLECTIONS

New fabrics, without new code.

Keep fabrics, colors, and hardware in collections instead of in each product. Add a color with the date it's offered from, and every product that uses the collection picks it up.

  • A swatch color or photo for each fabric and finish
  • Offered-from and offered-until dates for seasonal lines
  • Percent or dollar upcharges your products can price
  • Paste a CSV to update a whole line at once
  • Link an entry to inventory, and out-of-stock choices say so

007 // WHO DOES THE WORK

We build it with you. Your team runs it.

You don't need a developer on staff. We model your products during implementation, and your admins take over the everyday changes.

  1. 01

    We build your first products

On a Full Build, we model your products, price grids, rules, and shop routing from the sheets and forms you use today, and check them with your team before dealers order.

  2. 02

    Your admins take over

After launch, admins make the everyday changes in plain English. Everyone else in the office can test-drive products and read the history.

  3. 03

    Pay for what you use

Product Studio's AI usage is on your monthly Painless invoice. Nothing to prepay, and you can see what recent work cost.

008 // FAQ

Product Studio questions

What is Product Studio?

Product Studio is the product configurator and CPQ workspace in Painless: where you build and change the products your dealers order. It covers the dealer's order form, the rules, the price, the bill of materials, and the production routing. Ask for changes in plain English, test-drive a product as any dealer, and put changes live when they're ready.

Who builds our products in Painless?

On a Full Build, we do. We model your products, price grids, rules, and shop routing from the sheets and forms you use today, and check them with your team before dealers order. After launch, your admins make the everyday changes. On the Ordering plan, Studio Start lets your team build its own products, with our kickoff and training.

Do we have to write code?

No. Ask for a change in plain English and Product Studio makes it, tests it, and saves it as a draft. Each product is still one readable definition underneath, so your admins can see exactly what a rule does, or edit it directly if they want to.

Who on our team can make changes?

Account admins ask for changes, review them, and activate them. Everyone else in the office can test-drive products, preview them as any dealer, and read the history.

Can Painless read our existing price sheets and order forms?

Yes. Drop in Excel or CSV price grids, PDFs, or photos of your order forms and price sheets. Excel and CSV are read exactly; PDFs and photos are transcribed, and you review every cell before a price table is saved. Studio can also research a public product page or spec sheet and draft the product from it.

How do product changes go live without disrupting dealers?

Product changes are drafts until you activate them, and dealers never see a draft. Activate one when it's right, or schedule a go-live date and Painless re-checks the draft at that time, emailing your admins either way. Any earlier version can be brought back in one click. Price tables and discounts you confirm take effect right away, and each can be undone.

What does the AI cost?

Product Studio usage is billed after the fact on your monthly Painless invoice, with nothing to prepay. You can see what recent work cost as you go.

What kinds of products does it handle?

Products with dimensions, options, and rules: awnings, screens, shades, shutters, doors, cabinet doors, furniture, enclosures, and fabricated parts. Fractional inches down to 16ths, options that switch off when they don't apply, and checks like “Height cannot exceed 192 inches” are standard.

How is this different from a generic CPQ tool?

Generic CPQ was built for software bundles and stops at the quote, and changing it usually means calling the vendor. In Painless the configurator runs inside your branded dealer portal, the same product drives the BOM and the shop routing, and your own team changes it in Product Studio.

What is CPQ for manufacturers?

CPQ (configure, price, quote) software turns a product with many options into a guided order form, checks it, and prices it. For a manufacturer the job doesn’t end at the quote: in Painless the same product also produces the bill of materials and the production routing, so the order arrives build-ready.
